SPOTLIGHT ON LEARNING - KINDERGARTEN
Reading and writing in KA and KS
Our youngest readers and writers are learning how to put sentences together, use new words and draw pictures to go with their writing. Students are exploring the subject-verb-object structure when making sentences to convey their ideas. They love sharing their work and the classrooms are full of writing on display showcasing their amazing progress.

Student’s first excursion
KA and KS attended their first school excursion to the Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre. Hands-on application of geography skills and knowledge involved students using maps, bushwalking, building shelters and nature play. Everyone enjoyed being in the natural surroundings and students proudly represented our school.

Kids who read, succeed!
Students have been revising their tricky words and reading decodable texts as part of a before school reading club. Open to all Kindergarten students and supported by our amazing Year 6 leaders, this opportunity is to foster a love of and build confidence in reading. It takes place in KS every morning (except Fridays) from 9:00am to 9:20am. Kindergarten students can attend as many times as they would like each week. Thank you to Mrs Sparrow for leading this new reading initiative.
